Moderator Rules

In order to create a warm, friendly and positive DC community, we have established some general rules for forum users. Please read the rules carefully and follow them.

  • 1.Job objective

    Create a warm, friendly and positive forum atmosphere and encourage forum users to actively participate in the forum;

    Answer the questions raised by forum users and help them solve problems;

    Keep discussion focused, not getting off the topics in the board.

  • 2.Scope of work

    Communicate with forum users, including opening new topics, replying posts, sending messages, etc, direct the users to read excellent posts and stimulate lurkers to respond;

    Post forum announcements, recommend excellent posts, add excellent original articles into classic topic area;

    Organize and host forum events or activities;

    Edit or delete posts violating forum rules and punish violators in an appropriate way.

  • 3.Penalties

    The moderator will be removed from the post if he/she receives 3 complaints due to editing users' posts without proper cause;

    The moderator will be removed from the post if he/she receives 3 complaints due to deleting users' posts without proper cause;

    The moderator will be removed from the post if he/she receives 3 complaints due to silencing users without proper cause;

    The moderator will be removed from the post if he/she receives 3 complaints due to abusing users;

    The moderator will be removed from the post if he/she receives 3 complaints due to handling users' conflicts unfairly;

    The moderator has to ask for a leave if he/she is to be away for more than 3 days. If he/she fails to do so for 3 times, he/she will be removed from the post.

  • 4.Basic requirements and promotion process

    4.1 Basic requirements:

    1. Love to play web games and skillful at playing at least one web game;

    2. Have a strong sense of responsibility;

    3. No bad record at BBG forum;

    4. Have sufficient time fulfilling the job duties (2 hours per day on average);

    5. Good writing ability;

    6. Active in the forum.

    4.2Promotion process

    Apply - Temporary Mod - Formal Mod - Elite Mod - Super Mod - Heroic Mod

    Each new topic is worth 2 XP and each reply is worth 1 XP.

  • 5.Moderator training

    After logging in as admin, you'll see a [Board Management] button beside [Classic Topics]. Click it to enter board management page.

    5.1 Delete thread or post

    You can delete a topic on the admin interface in the following way: tick select the check box beside the post, and select "Delete" in "Fast management operation".You can also directly delete a topic or a reply in the forum page as follows: enter a topic and click the "Delete" button above the post you want to edit.

    5.2 Move Topic

    If a post is irrelevant to the board, you can move it to an appropriate board on the admin interface in the following way: tick select the check box beside the post, and select "Transfer" in "Fast management operation".

    Note: A window will prompt to let you select the board you want to transfer the post. You can't see the prompt window if your browser shields it. (This window will be blocked under FF, so if you wanna move topic, plz use IE)

    5.3 Sticky/cancel sticky

    A sticky post must be about board introduction or board rules, or notices, announcements or hot topics. Do not make too many posts sticky. 5 is acceptable, but not more than Make a post sticky as follows: tick select the check box beside the post and select "Sticky" in "Fast management operation.Cancel a sticky post as follows: tick select the check box beside the post and select "Cancel sticky" in "Fast management operation.

    5.4 Edit post

    Be cautious when using this function. To respect the post author, do not use this function unless it is absolutely necessary. If some mistakes are found in the post and have to be corrected, you'd better leave a message to the author to ask him/her to correct it himself/herself.

    5.5 Lock/cancel lock

    Lock a post as follows: tick select the check box beside the post and select "Lock" in "Fast management operation".Cancel lock as follows: tick select the check box beside of the post and select "Cancel lock" in "Fast management operation".

    5.6 Classic/cancel classic

    Making posts classic is an important part of the moderator's routine work. The moderator should often make excellent original articles classic.Make a post classic in the following way: tick select the check box beside the post and select "Classic" in "Fast management operation".Cancel a classic post in the following way: tick select the check box beside the post and select "Cancel classic" in "Fast management operation".

    5.7 Edit post title font

    Do it as follows: tick select the check box beside the post and select any font you want in "Fast management operation".

    5.8 User ban management

    Do it as follows: click "User ban management" in the top right corner of the admin interface. Enter the username you are going to ban (Note: it's username, not nickname), select the ban time ranging from 10 minutes to 6 hours as well as ban reasons, and click "Submit".
